September 9th: Honor Attica with 24 Hours of Resistance — Stand in Solidarity with Prisoners Today

Sept. 9, we stand in solidarity with prisoners across the United States.

This date marks the anniversary of the Attica uprising — a historic moment when incarcerated people rose up against inhumane conditions and demanded dignity, safety, and freedom.

In prisons nationwide, organizers are commemorating through 24 hours of work stoppage, fasting, and education. Inside, participants are engaging in unity and refusing prisoner-on-prisoner hostilities. Outside, we can echo their action through:

✊ Sharing their voices and demands✊ Writing letters of encouragement✊ Joining a solidarity fast✊ Spreading awareness in our communities

Brian “Hakiym” Simpson, wrongfully incarcerated since Juneteenth 2024, is participating from inside. His commitment reminds us that this fight is not only about survival — it’s about building a future rooted in justice, unity, and liberation.
